Caring for your woodenware

Every Mr Willett product is treated with food grade mineral oil, then a coconut and mineral oil balm (for spoons) or food grade Danish Oil (for boards).

To give your product the best life, avoid soaking or cleaning in dishwasher, as this has the potential to damage fibres and cause problems in the future.

Instead, wash with warm soapy water, rinse, then dry with a cloth. Standing your board on its side will also ensure it drys evenly. If you find the grain rises slightly, fear not — all it needs is a light sand with a fine grit sandpaper (280-350 should do the trick) and a oil or wax (beeswax, mineral oil, walnut or coconut oil will work wonderfully, and are easily sourced). Avoid using oils that go rancid, such as olive oil.

And of course, if you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
