HEre's to THE HANDMADE
There’s a level of depth and mystery in something that’s handmade. Not only does it invite you to connect with a product, but also the story behind it. When a piece of wood is cut, some of its qualities and imperfections are known for the first time – variations such as colour and grain pattern allow for an end result that is as unique as it is unexpected.
Thus explains my love for working with timber.
The materials I use are typically rescued from local sources such as storm damaged trees, reclaimed hardwoods, or offcuts from hand made furniture. Most of my serving boards are made from kiln dried hardwood that I have milled, and each product I design is done so purposefully with the natural desire of the wood kept in mind.
